The album, which is a double album, was influenced by “West Coast AOR, classic hits, weirdo pop and Hawaiian Hapa-haole music”. It was created in Palm Springs, California, and Hilo, Hawaii. The album has been well-received by critics and is considered the definitive Unknown Mortal Orchestra record.
